With the fast growing demand for care and increasing administrative tasks, healthcare providers are challenged where it comes to the time they can actually spend interacting with their patients. While technology has made great strides in healthcare, such as improving the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases, some argue technology is also 'dehumanizing' medicine. During The AI Summit, Dr. Roy Smythe, Chief Medical Officer for Philips' Connected Care & Health Informatics businesses, will share his views on how artificial intelligence will place tools in every person's hands to enable much of their own healthcare delivery, freeing clinicians from many activities, to allow them to interact with patients like never before. Dr. Smyth is convinced that AI will enable the healthcare provider to fulfill the valuable roles of compassionate caregiver and trusted advisor. As a result, medicine will become more, rather than less, humane.
