During the first three months of the 2019 financial year, Groupe M6 reported stable consolidated revenue of €345.7 million (Q1/2018: €345.6 million).

Consolidated EBITA reached €64.2 million, compared to €62.0 million in the first quarter of 2018. This increase was mainly due to the ongoing implementation of synergies generated by the integration of the Radio division.

The Group's operating margin was 18.6 per cent, a 0.7 percentage point increase compared to the 17.9 per cent margin reported in the first quarter of 2018.

Advertising revenue

The group's advertising revenue for the first three months of 2019 (free-to-air and pay-TV channels, internet) grew by 2.9 per cent to €259.4 million (Q1/2018: €252.2 million).

Radio

During the first three months of 2019, radio revenue increased by 1.7 per cent to €35.5 million (Q1/2018: €34.8 million).

Production and audiovisual rights

At 31 March 2019, revenue from production and audiovisual rights activities increased by 11.3 per cent to €19.7 million (Q1/2018: €17.7 million), mainly due to a favourable cinema release schedule at SND. The first quarter of 2019 was notable for the continued success of Astérix: The Secret of the Magic Potion, released on 5 December 2018, which recorded more than 4 million cinema admissions in France, including 1.1 million during the first quarter of 2019.
