Peab together with Saab AB will move and broaden the existing runway at Saab Airport in Linkoping.

The contract is worth SEK 190 million.

Moving the runway will reduce the level of noise in the city and create room for growth in Linkoping. The project entails moving the existing runway 600 meters eastwardly from the city. It will also be adjusted to adhere to current regulations that enable larger planes to take off and land.

'We are proud to be part of the development of the airport together with Saab. We are a local community builder and one of the reasons we won the contract is that we have the requisite resources for the project within Peab. This is what we call locally produced community building,' says Lars Lind, Production Manager Peab.

'We look forward to working together with Peab as a partner. Peab has previously done a major job on the runway and it turned out well. Working on the project while Saab's flight testing operations are in full swing requires taking special consideration,' says Torbjorn Nibelius, Group Property Manager at Saab.

The project is a traditional contract. Construction started in April 2020 and the project is expected to be completely finished in the autumn of 2022.

The project will be order registered in the second quarter 2020.
