Company Sponsorship Provides Direct Support to Warfighters, Civilian Department of Defense Personnel and their Families

(McLean, Va.,) Sept. 12, 2013 - Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today that it is continuing as the Presenting Sponsor of the annual Navy-Air Force Half Marathon and Navy 5 Miler event scheduled for Sept. 14 in Washington, D.C.

The Navy-Air Force Half Marathon and Navy 5 Miler is planned and organized by the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program, which provides services that contribute to the retention, readiness, mental, physical, and emotional well-being of active duty personnel and Department of Defense (DoD) employees by providing a varied program of recreation, social and community support activities. This is the seventh consecutive year that SAIC has been the lead sponsor of this event, dating back to when it was just the Navy 5 Miler, helping the event grow to its current dual race format.

"Roughly 70 SAIC employees are part of the over 4,000 registered runners this year in both races. Each year, we look forward to continuing our sponsorship for this event to help those in need," said Tom Watson, SAIC Navy and Marine Corps Group senior vice president, who will run in the half marathon. "The run continues to grow every year and it has become an important event for the military and community alike. We are honored to provide support directly to our warfighters as well as civilian DoD personnel and their families."

"SAIC's sponsorship and its employees' participation in this event has helped our program achieve greater visibility among the military and civilians within the Washington, D.C. metro area. Their commitment has enabled us to expand this race on a much larger scale, year after year," said Allison Bowman, race director from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling MWR program.
