Personnel change at Salzgitter AG at Executive Board level

Mr Johannes Nonn, an industrial engineer who has held a number of executive positions in our
Group since 2002, most recently as the Board member at Salzgitter AG responsible for the Steel
Division, is leaving the company at his own request.

Mr Nonn will take up position as CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of
SCHMOLZ+BICKENBACH AG with headquarters in Emmen, Switzerland, on February 1, 2013.

The responsibility for the Steel Division on Salzgitter AG's Executive Board will be assumed by
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Jörg Fuhrmann, Chairman of the Executive Board, until the "Salzgitter AG 2015" organization development project has been concluded, which is expected at mid-year 2013.

The Supervisory Board and the Executive Board of Salzgitter AG thank Mr Nonn for his long-
standing service and commitment to our company and wish him every success for his new career challenge.
