WALLDORF - SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that independent analyst firm Forrester has named SAP a Leader in 'The Forrester Wave™: Industrial IoT Software Platforms, Q3 2018. '

According to Forrester, 'Industrial IoT software platforms help simplify deploying, managing, operating and capturing insights from internet-of-things (IoT)-enabled devices.' The report cites that 'the digital transformation of traditional manufacturing firms cannot - and must not - simply be about making existing industrial processes more efficient. These organizations must recognize the opportunity to use digital as a way to create more sustainable and profitable customer relationships, continuously aligning product value to changing customer requirements.'

The SAP Leonardo methodology was recognized as a Leader and cited for enabling customers to 'leverage innovative technologies such as IoT, machine learning, blockchain, analytics and big data as part of their digital transformation initiatives.' SAP scored a 5.00 out of a possible 5.00 in both the Strategic Differentiation and Connect Functions criteria in the Forrester report.

'I believe that being named a Leader in the Forrester Wave for Industrial IoT report further establishes SAP's position as an IoT leader that is using new technologies to enable customers digital transformation,' said Mala Anand, president, SAP Leonardo and Analytics, SAP. 'The IoT is enabling businesses to navigate the digital transformation and improve processes to become more advanced and streamlined. We are helping our customers connect assets to the internet, making them smarter and producing innovative outcomes.'
