After a career spanning four decades Bob Jolly, Head of Global Macro Strategy, will retire from Schroders in June 2021, having spent 10 years building and leading the firm's Global Multi-Sector team. Bob will be succeeded by Paul Grainger, as Head of Global Multi-Sector Fixed Income, who will take sole responsibility for the team.

Bob has built a team of experienced fund managers and analysts who have worked together within the same investment process for many years. Paul Grainger will continue to build on Bob's original vision of a clearly defined philosophy, a robust investment process and a strong team based approach.

Paul joined the team in 2015 and was appointed Head of Global Multi-Sector 12 months later. Since 2016 Paul and Bob have co-managed the team, jointly setting strategy, objectives and sharing the day to day running of the team. Paul has led the Portfolio Management team with Jolly responsible for the Strategy team.

Bob will continue in his role as Head of Global Macro Strategy until December 2020. During this time a comprehensive handover of responsibilities will take place with Paul taking sole leadership of the team from December 2020, the Strategy Team will then report to him. From April 2021, Bob will relinquish his involvement in portfolio management but will remain in an advisory capacity on an ongoing basis until he retires in June 2021.

Philippe Lespinard, Head of Fixed Income, comments:

'We would like to thank Bob for his dedication to our clients over the years and his commitment to building a team of highly talented and experienced investment professionals. We are some way off until Bob formally retires, at which time we will fully celebrate his illustrious career and the significant contribution he has made to Schroders.

'In planning for Bob's successor, it was crucial to ensure full continuity in our investment philosophy and disciplined process. Paul is committed to our strong team culture and to delivering consistent, competitive investment performance for our clients. I have every confidence the team will continue to grow and excel under Paul's strong leadership.'
