Reston, Va. - Science Applications International Corp.'s (NYSE: SAIC) Katherine Katina, business development associate, has been named a Rising Star by a consortium of publications, including FCW, GCN, Washington Technology, and Defense Systems, as part of the larger Government Innovation Awards program.

Katina joined SAIC in 2016. She currently manages relationships with seven Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) contract vehicles, and has handled over $100 million in submissions within SAIC's Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Center.

'We are very proud of all that Katherine has accomplished early in her career. She began with SAIC as an intern and has quickly worked her way up through the ranks,' said Tom Eldridge, senior vice president of Strategic Development and Communications. 'She is considered a subject matter expert on OTAs, with responsibility for coordinating enterprise-wide OTA acquisition best practices. Additionally, she has taken an active leadership role in promoting the use of OTAs as a tool to provide innovation to the warfighter faster.'

Each year, the Rising Star Awards recognizes individuals who are early in their federal IT careers yet already are having an outsized impact. The winners were selected both for their accomplishments over the past year and for their leadership potential in this community.

'I am honored to have received this award and am excited to continue my career at SAIC,' said Katina. 'For the past several years, I have been given many opportunities to support new and interesting customers. I look forward to continuing to provide effective services that reduce their time for acquisition and brings modernization and innovation to their programs.'

The Government Innovation Awards also recognizes the companies supporting the government's transformation and the most innovative technology initiatives across the public sector.
