Electrical and electronic product recalls increased in the EU and fell in the USA in the third quarter of 2018, compared to the previous quarter.

In the EU, 74 products were recalled, an increase of 16% on Q2. The top category for recalls was electrical appliances and equipment, with 43 recalls. Other products recalled included 22 pieces of lighting equipment and 9 lighting chains. Across all categories, the main risk was electric shock.

13 products were recalled in the USA, a drop of 31% from the previous quarter. The primary category for recalls was electrical appliances and equipment, with fire being the main risk.
