SGS : The ASEAN Updates the Trace Limit for 1,4-Dioxane in Cosmetics

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Guidelines on Limits of Contaminants for Cosmetics is updated. Version 3.0 includes one additional limit of contamination for 1,4-dioxane.

This limit is adopted as per the 30th ACSB Meeting, June 18-19, 2019, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. With effect from June 19, 2020, cosmetic products in ASEAN countries shall not contain more than 25ppm of 1,4-Dioxane as trace impurities, and from June 19, 2023, the limit is further reduced to 10ppm trace level.
