Aug. 14--By day, they write code and manage client brands, but by night they trade their code for chords and rock out in bands.

On Friday, bands composed of coworkers from local tech companies will play in a concert to benefit local charities.

SharpSpring, a marketing automation company, and Info Tech, a software company, will host the 4th annual Tech Charity Concert at High Dive, 210 SW 2nd Ave.

The venue's beer garden opens at 7:30 p.m., and bands will begin performing at 8, said SharpSpring Talent and Culture Manager Lillian Vargas.

Four bands: SharpSpring's Toolshed, Info Tech's The Bams, Feathr's Angsty Birds and Digital Brands' Digital Band will take the stage.

Prizes including food, beer and workout classes will also be raffled, she said.

Harryson Pointdujour, a product marketing specialist at SharpSpring and Toolshed's singer, said he has enjoyed getting to know his talented coworkers better through a shared love of music.

"It's not like a typical work event," he said.

Toolshed will perform a mix of rock and R&B covers at this year's event, he said, including tracks from Janelle Monae, Radiohead and Carrie Underwood.

Tickets cost $10, and are available online or at the door. An additional $3 under-21 fee will be charged at the door.

Duncan Kabinu, co-founder of the Gainesville Dev Academy, will emcee.

Concert proceeds benefit Grace Marketplace, Family Promise shelter and Peaceful Paths domestic violence shelter.

Last year, the concert raised $5,000 for local charities, a goal Vargas said she hopes will be surpassed at this year's concert.

"Our goal is as much as possible," she said.
