The salient highlights of the projects are as follows:

PROJECTS IN OPERATION & MAINTAINENCE STAGE:

1) 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station -This is the largest underground Power Station in India. It is fully operation since May 2004. The Design Energy of NJHPS is 6612 million units per year, but with quality management, efficient maintenance and running of the plant, it has successively exceeded its Design Energy. NJHPS is equipped with the State-of-Art technology and has the know-how to tackle challenging Himalayan Geology. It has accumulated requisite knowledge and expertise to conceptualize, optimize and develop hydro power projects of any size. Over the years NJHPS has consistently exceeded the Memorandum of Understanding MoU targets set out by the Ministry of Power (MOP). The power plant continues to establish new benchmarks in hydro power sector.

NJHPS is able to exceed yearly generation targets by successfully and efficiently tackling the problem of heavy silt flows in River Sutlej. To protect critical underwater parts of the hydro machines a'State of the Art' Hard Coating Facility has been installed at the power station site. This improves the plants generation efficiency by reducing wear and tear losses. NJHPS is the first hydro power station in the country to use such technology.

2) 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station - Rampur Hydro Power Station is SJVNs second operating hydro project. It is a tail race project to Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and the plant is designed to operate as a Cascade Plant in Tandem with NJHPS, utilizing its tail water. After generation at NJHPS, the discharged de-silted water is diverted from the tail pond into Rampur Intake for generation. The Rampur power plant has a Design Energy capacity of 1878.08 MU. On being commissioned in 2014, Rampur HPS has the rare distinction of being one of the few Hydro Power units in the country which achieved its Design Energy in the very first year of its operation. The plants efficiency continues to excel consistently. 3) 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Station- SJVN has installed its first Wind Power Project of 47.6 MW capacity in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The project comprises of 56 Wind Electric Generators (WEGs) of 0.85 KW capacity each and has a total Design Energy capacity of 85.65MU. The project was commissioned in 2014 and is providing 47.6 MW capacity addition to the Maharashtra State Grid.4) 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Station- SJVN commissioned its first Solar Plant of 5.6 MW capacity in March 2017 at the Charanka Solar Power Station in Gujarat. The project with a Design Energy of 8 MU has been developed under Renewable Energy Certificate Mechanism. The Power Purchase Agreement for CSPP has been signed with Gujrat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for a 25 years period.5) 400 KV, D/C Cross Border Transmission Line - The work of India Portion (CPTC) viz. Muzaffarpur-Sursand Power Transmission Line (86 KM) of 400 KV, D/C Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar Indo-Nepal Cross Border Power Transmission Line Project has been completed and is under operation since Feb 2016.The entire Power Transmission Line consisting of both Nepal (PTCN) and India (CPTC) portions was dedicated to the nations jointly by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India & Nepal on 20th Feb, 2016. Presently, around 145 MW of power is flowing from India to Nepal through the 220/132 kV, 100 MVA transformer installed as a contingent arrangement.

PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION STAGE :

1) 50 MW Sadla Wind Power Project -Sadla Wind Power Project with an installed capacity of 50 MW is situated in Sadla, Gujarat. The project comprises of 25 Wind Electric Generators each of capacity 2 MW, 19 of which has already been commissioned.PPA has been signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 38 MW. The Project is in advanced stage of construction and is likely to be commissioned in the current financial year. 2) 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project- SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company (SAPDC) is a fully owned subsidiary of SJVN, which is executing Arun -3 HEP. It is a peaking run-of-river, export-oriented project located on the Arun River in Sankhuwasabha District of Eastern Nepal, with a generation capacity of 900 MW.The project has the potential to generate 3924 million units of electricity every year. The Power Evacuation System for the project consists of erection of 217 kilometer long 400 KV Double Circuit Transmission Line from Diding (project area) in Nepal to Dhalkebar (Nepal border).Government of India has accorded investment approval for the generation component of the project at an estimated cost of Rs 5723.72 crores at May 2015 Price Level.
