Skanska has signed a contract with Oregon Health & Science University (OSHU) to build a pediatric ophthalmology facility near the existing Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon, USA. The contract is worth USD 39 M, about SEK 350 M, which will be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter 2018.

The new five-story 6,000-square-meter medical facility will feature an optical shop, conference rooms, clinical and research space, vision clinics, the Translational Clinical Trials Center, the Macular Degeneration Center and space for patient care. A sky bridge will connect the third floor of the clinic space to the adjacent Casey Eye Institute. The project will be built to meet LEED Gold certification.

Construction began in November 2018 and the project is expected to be completed in July 2020.
