WOBURN, Mass. (AP) _ Skyworks Solutions Inc. (SWKS) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $129.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Woburn, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 77 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and asset impairment costs, were $1.25 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.13 per share.

The chipmaker posted revenue of $736.8 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $690.1 million.

For the current quarter ending in September, Skyworks expects its per-share earnings to be $1.51. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $1.41.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $830 million to $850 million for the fiscal fourth quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $786.2 million.

Skyworks shares have increased 12% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $135.34, a climb of 60% in the last 12 months.
