The Domain is located in Sydney's CBD district, and is an inner-city oasis with large open grassy areas, groups of mature trees and walkways, making it a popular area for people relax, exercise and play sports.

It also has several entertainment areas that play host to a multitude of open-air gatherings such as concerts, meetings and events, and The Domain also draws visitors from adjoining public institutions including Sydney Hospital, Parliament House and the State Library, as well as the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Wilson Parking have managed the Domain Parking Station for a few years now, and recently decided to award Smart Parking the contract to install our OHI system in the car park, to enhance motorists' customer experience and journey.

The project will install more than a thousand overhead indicator sensors, who display green light for a free bay or red light for an unavailable bay, as well as indicators for defined use bays such as disabled bays or loading zones.

As well, motorists will be further guided through the car park using LED signage displays that show visibility of the number of vacant car parks on different levels of the building.

All of this information is gathered once a car pulls into a bay by our SmartCloud platform. This is run using the Google Cloud Platform and means we can display accurate bay status on both the OHI and LED signage within seconds of a cars arrival.

Ben Williams, Smart Parking's National Sales Manager, comments 'The Domain is a draw card for so many different types of visitor, and having more cars off the street and able to easily find a bay in the Domain Parking Station benefits all the users of the area'
