The automated disconnection of Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 from SEN

S.N. Nuclearelectrica SA ("SNN") announcesthat today, during the afternoon, at 16:38 hours, Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 automatically disconnected from theNational Power Grid ("SEN")following a false signal which triggered one of the turbine systems (bearing), on the classical part of the power plant.

Currently, the exact cause which lead to the automatic reactor trip is being analysed, and subsequently, the remediation and reconnection of Unit 1 to SEN procedures will be initiated.

These activities have no adverse impact on the personnel, the population and the environment.
