Solvay - The best wastewater treatment technology for our needs.

'Our company is a leading multinational chemical producer with a Polyethylene plant near Livorno, Italy.

Safety, Health and Environment across our business is our highest priority. As part of our program of continuous improvement, which helps underpin our license to operate investment into a new wastewater treatment plant, an evaluation of different technology and suppliers on the market was completed.

'After considering a number of options, new technology from Solvay was selected and a series of trials completed. For our needs, it was clear that Capterall presented the best technology, in terms of technical performance, economics and environmental sustainability.'

Sustainable value to reduce contaminants

'Capterall is a straightforward and effective technology, capable of handling the peaks and fluctuations of our waste water, and it meant we could treat the water locally onsite, in a sustainable way, rather than transport to an off-site facility. The installation is also a compact design. While the short-term investment was not negligible, we are confident that the new system is well worth the investment.

'The sustainability aspect of this solution was fundamental for us. Sustainability is at the heart of how we do business. It is essential for our company to manage production in a compliant manner that protects the environment. This is particularly the case at our plant near Livorno, since we operate in a tourism area.

'Also, extremely important for us was the close collaboration with Solvay technicians in implementing this project. This was not a copy-paste design. The Solvay team worked side-by-side with us to design a plant optimized for our needs. The level of collaboration went well beyond a typical supplier-customer relationship. It was obvious that Solvay took a strong interest from the start of the project to the start up of the plant, to get our plant working according to specification.
