Southern Peru Copper Corporation (Lima Branch) is a Peru-based branch office of Southern Copper Corporation, a mining company established in the United States. The Company is active in the mining sector and its activities include the milling and grounding of copper concentrates, as well as its smelting and refining to produce copper anodes and cathodes. It also produces refined copper used in extraction technology for solvents and electrolysis or leaching. Additionally, silver, molybdenum and small quantities of other metals contained in copper minerals are treated as by-products. The Company operates the Ilo copper smelting and refining plant, and the Toquepala and Cuajone mining units, which are located in the regions of Tacna and Moquegua.
