Spotless is the proud recipient of the SA Governor's Multicultural Award 2017 in the private sector category. The Awards celebrate South Australians who promote multiculturalism and are conducted by the Department of Human Services and Multicultural SA. His Excellency, the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia, presented Catherine Walsh, Spotless EGM, People & Customer with the award. Spotless was recognised for our achievement as one of the first businesses to sign up to the Friendly Nation Initiative (FNI) led by the Migration Council Australia. The FNI encourages businesses to get involved in supporting refugees in ways that work with the strengths of individual companies. Spotless National Workforce Planning team worked with Community Corporate as the lead partner in designing and delivering the Spotless 30: Refugee Employment Pilot program. The highly successful pilot has placed 32 refugees in Orderly and Cleaning jobs at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. By providing this vital platform for accessing work opportunities, Spotless has highlighted that refugees and migrants are an invaluable resource to our future prosperity as a nation.

A few words from our new recruits:
'I am so grateful for this opportunity to work for Spotless at the new hospital. This program and the support we were given is the best program I have done, I felt they really wanted us to succeed. I am so excited to have a job now thank you to Spotless for giving us this chance' Henry, Liberian Refugee Participant - now employed

'This is my first job, I really want to work in the health industry and this program has given me an opportunity I would not have been so lucky and had so much support - this is the chance I have been waiting for and to work for the Spotless company who cares about giving us this chance is even better' Skovia, Sudanese Refugee Participant - now employed
