Friday, August 17th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.942, more than three cents above Thursday's closing price of $2.908. Slipping to the intraday low of $2.935 within minutes of the session's opening bell, buying soon gained momentum as prices climbed to the intraday high of $2.968. Rolling modestly lower over the balance of the day as markets reassess production rates against cooling forecasts, September closed higher on Friday at $2.946.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 11 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was unchanged; and, Gasoline was up slightly.
