STV : Player is the destination for sport

In addition to providing exclusive access to the Rugby World Cup, which kicks off today, the UK's only free-to-air sports channel, FreeSports, is now available on the STV Player.The STV Player has become the first partner to host a live stream of 24-hour sports channel, providing an 'always on' sports offering on the STV Player and enabling sports fans to keep up with events around the clock with highlights and live coverage from the UK and global sporting calendars. Fixtures include up to 10 live football matches a week from Major League Soccer (MLS), Liga NOS and Serie A. In addition to football, sports covered include international rugby, ice hockey, motorsports, boxing, wrestling, pool, cycling and equestrian events.Additionally, as the 2019 Rugby World Cup gets underway, the STV Player will provide exclusive access to all of the games from the home nations and many more fixtures throughout the tournament. Fans can watch all games live making use of new features, including 'picture in picture' enabling viewers to work and watch the rugby at the same time. 'Picture in picture' is available for all content on the STV Player. Comprehensive coverage and analysis of the matches will be broadcast live on STV. Anchored by Mark Pougatch and Jill Douglas, there will be contributions from an line-up of experts including Sir Ian McGeechan, Jonny Wilkinson, Sam Warburton, Brian O'Driscoll, Sir Clive Woodward, Gareth Thomas, Lawrence Dallaglio and Maggie Alphonsi.
