STV : Who would have thought Scotland's most fearless motorcross riders was a young girl?

Cristina is no average schoolgirl - she doesn't have posters of Disney princesses on her walls, instead she has pictures of champion motorcycle racers and aspires to one day join their ranks. Cristina is a champion in the making in the tough sport of motocross, recognized to be one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. STV's Scotland Stories: Crossing the Line airs on STV on Monday 11^th November at 8pm and follows this remarkable East Lothian girl as she pursues her passion for motocross to reach the top levels of the sport. Having been around motorbikes since she was a youngster, Cristina is one of Scotland's most fearless riders and regularly competes as the only girl in a male-dominated field. Abandoning ballet and gymnastics to focus on her motocross training, she has big ambitions to become the British girl's motocross champion and regularly races against boys to push her speed and abilities. But as she nears on a championship place, a devastating injury means her future in the sport hangs in the balance.Speaking to Cristina's family, coach and some of her friends and competitors, the programme tells the story of a determined girl, passionate about her sport and with aims of reaching the top. Motocross is a type of motorcycle racing that takes place off-road on gravel, mud or grass and is growing in popularity across the UK. The sport is exciting and adrenaline-fuelled and involves high levels of skill and control from the rider as they power across fast, challenging terrain. Of her passion for the sport, Cristina said: 'Riding my motocross bike is mainly about high speed and adrenaline. It's taken over my life and I live and breathe bikes.'Cristina's determination shines through when she lines up at the start line, 'my races are usually very competitive but in a race, it's not about how you start, it's about how you finish.'
