Summit Materials, Inc. (NYSE: SUM), a leading vertically integrated construction materials company, today announced the sale of Grand Junction Pipe & Supply (GJP) to Ferguson Waterworks, the largest company in the waterworks industry.

GJP supplies irrigation and utility water pipe, valve fittings and accessory items to local utility districts, contractors, golf courses and the agricultural sector on the western slope of Colorado. GJP was part of Summit’s earlier acquisition of an aggregates-based business in Grand Junction, Colorado. Summit subsequently expanded its business on Colorado’s western slope through the acquisition of Peak Materials in 2017. This divestment of the non-core GJP operation reflects Summit’s continued focus on its materials-based growth strategy.
