Suncorp has been awarded Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for the seventh year in a row.

The WGEA recognises Suncorp's ongoing commitment as an industry leader in workplace gender equality and promoting an inclusive culture across the business.

The citation is awarded to organisations that meet the Workplace Gender Equality Agency's rigorous standards in gender equality, which include: leadership, strategy and accountability, pay equity, support for caring, mainstreaming flexible work, and prevention of harassment and discrimination.

With 51% of leadership roles now held by women at Suncorp, we have achieved continual progress towards gender balance across all levels of business.

Suncorp Group CEO Steve Johnston said the recognition reflected Suncorp's ongoing commitment to an inclusive and diverse workplace.

'This is an important acknowledgement of our commitment to embed equality across the business, through inclusive workplace policies and practices,' Mr Johnston said.

'We recognise that we will be our best when our workforce is as diverse, talented and passionate as the communities in which we operate. We have achieved gender balance across our leader roles, and we continue to embed equality for all genders throughout the organisation.'

The EOCGE citation has been in place since 2014 and is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.
