Sylvania Resources PTY Ltd, formerly Sylvania Resources Limited, is active in the metallurgical industry. It is operational in South Africa. The Company's principal business activity is investment in mineral exploration and mineral treatment projects. It is engaged in a number of operations and plants, including the Sylvania Dump Operations (SDO), Millsell, Steelpoort, Lanex, Mooinooi, Doornbosch, Tweefontein, Chrome Tailings Retreatment Project (CTRP),the Volspruit Project (formerly Grass Valley), Hacra Project and Aurora Project, among others. Sylvania has a portfolio of platinum group metals (PGM) with chromite tailings retreatment operations and shallow mining resources located in South Africa's Bushveld Igneous Complex (BIC). In 2009, the Company acquired both SA Metals Limited and Great Australian Resources Limited. It also embarked on a merger with Ruukki Group Oyj. As of August 31, 2010, the Company was 82.45%-owned by Computershare Clearing Pty Ltd CCNL DI A/C.
