Taylor Wimpey : The Whitfield’s use Help to Buy to purchase first home

It was a chance drive past our Kingfisher Grange development that sealed the deal for Joanna and Michael Whitfield - they were buying their first home. With a growing family to think about and the prospect of wanting to leave a little nest egg, the Whitfield's took the plunge and bought their very first home.

The move would not have been as prompt without the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

Through the initiative, the couple was able to secure a four-bedroom Lydford - a bigger property than they first thought possible - with just a five per cent deposit.

Michael said: 'Thanks to the Help to Buy scheme we were able to reserve our home straight away and we couldn't believe how soon we were able to move in. Using the scheme also saved us a lot and this gave us more money to spend on furnishing our home.'

Joanna adds: 'We had been renting our previous home for several years and since our youngest child was getting older, we decided to take the plunge and find a family home that we could call ours. Like every parent, we want to be able to pass something on to our children and this home is it.'

The couple wanted each of their children to have their own bedroom and were impressed with the ample size of the homes on offer at theKingfisher Grangedevelopment.

Michael adds: 'We viewed the show home and just knew this was where we wanted to live. The benefit of buying a new build was that we could follow the progress of our house as it took shape, taking pictures along the way, which we can now keep forever.'

The happy family are now settled into their new home and have fond memories of the whole process.

Joanna explains: 'The sales team was great at providing us with all of the information and going through everything step by step, which made the whole experience easy and stress free.

'When we had an issue with our mortgage, the sales team helped to sort it all out for us, making sure we were able to move into our home without any delay. It's the best decision we ever made. We liked the look of the homes and the location was perfect.'
