For a reliable, systematic and autonomous CE marking process: The full service provider of technical documentation, gds Group, will present the latest extension to its CE-Expert solution at this year's annual tekom conference. CE-Expert is now equipped with a new and integrated risk assessment feature that enables the further streamlining of the individual elements comprising the CE marking process. gds is also presenting its extensive range of services encompassing technical documentation at exhibition booth 2/B01.

'The assessment of risks is a central component of the CE marking process,' says Ulrich Pelster, managing director of gds GmbH. 'Its integration into our CE-Expert solution helps to significantly simplify this process for the users.' The simple fact that both designers and technical writers can work together on the same platform increases workflow efficiency. CE-Expert supports the practice-oriented preparation of risk assessments by providing pre-defined content and menu-guided hazard analyses. This pre-populated system enables users to easily and quickly prepare documentation that is in compliance with relevant directives and standards. CE-Expert is currently offered in the docuglobe content management system (CMS) and will also be available soon in XR.

The next generation of technical documentation is digital
Further focus is placed on Electronic Content Delivery (ECD), the key issue for the future, at the exhibition booth of gds in Stuttgart. The provision of technical documentation in a digital form continues to grow in importance. At the annual conference, gds will further illustrate how added value can be gained by using ECD and demonstrate how users of docuglobe and XR, with the aid of EasyBrowse, can benefit from a comprehensive solution package for the management and distribution of electronic documentation.

'At this year's tekom conference, we are especially looking forward to in-depth discussion on forward-looking and trend-setting topics such as Electronic Content Delivery, which is closely tied to uniform standards for intelligent information,' explains Ulrich Pelster. As founding member of the iiRDS consortium, the so-called intelligent information Request and Delivery Standard is a central topic at this year's conference and it is also given much consideration during in-house product development.

Extensive range of solutions relating to technical documentation
Visitors to the exhibition booth of gds Group will also gain further insights into the comprehensive spectrum of services relating to technical documentation and the latest advancements of the CMSs of docuglobe and XR, for example. As one of the leading CMSs on the market, docuglobe assists technical writers in the no-fuss and time-effective preparation of technical publications. The MS Word-based CMS of docuglobe can be used for all sectors and it is continuously developed further in a practice-oriented manner. The subsidiary of gds, Ovidius, is providing the farthest advanced XML-based CCMS on the market in Europe with XR. In addition to sector-specific 'out-of-the-box' solutions such as XR/engineering, which is geared towards the requirements of machinery and systems engineering, and XR/aviation for the aviation industry, the system is offering a high degree of flexibility to accommodate individual customer preferences.

Technical translation services are essential, particularly for manufacturing companies. Reasons why high-quality translations do not necessarily have to be expensive are presented to visitors of the exhibition booth by the experts from gds Sprachenwelt. An agenda of exciting presentations will round out this year's exhibition: Anna-Lotte Wienstroer from gds GmbH will give a brief presentation on the topic 'Spielerisch lernen - Gamification in der Technischen Redaktion', starting Tuesday, November 13, at 11.50 am, in the Arena (hall C1). Later on that day, starting at 5.15 pm, Heinrich Greis from Fiducia & GAD IT AG and Stefan Krause from Ovidius GmbH will give a joint presentation titled 'The Show must go on: Einführung eines neuen CMS bei der Fiducia & GAD IT AG' in room C7.2.
