PASADENA, Calif. (AP) _ Tetra Tech Inc. (TTEK) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $36.4 million.

The Pasadena, California-based company said it had net income of 66 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 73 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 72 cents per share.

The consulting and engineering services company posted revenue of $734.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $584.5 million, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $594.1 million.

Tetra shares have dropped nearly 4% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $82.96, a rise of 29% in the last 12 months.
