Thales SA said Tuesday that Chinese cargo airline SF Airlines selected it along with Aviation Communication & Surveillance Systems to retrofit its fleet with airborne automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast equipment.
The French aerospace-and-defense company didn't disclose financial details for the contract to supply and install the technology, which is aimed at improving air traffic efficiency and capacity thanks to real-time information from an internal GPS.
Thales and ACSS, a joint venture between L3Harris Technologies Inc. and Thales, will initially retrofit 59 aircraft in the SF Airlines fleet.
