The General Chemical Group Inc. (GCG) is a producer of soda ash and calcium chloride in North America. The Company's products are soda ash, which is an essential raw material in glass, soap, powdered detergent, paper, textiles, food and other familiar consumer products, and calcium chloride is used for dust control and roadbed stabilization during the summer, deicing roads in winter, and in completion fluids for oil recovery and other industrial applications. The General Chemical Green River facility is located on the mile-high prairies of southwestern Wyoming, home to the world's largest reserves of trona ore.
