Even before they reached the finish line, the participants of the 2019 Achilles Hope & Possibility Race were champions.

The annual race, which took place at New York City's Central Park in June and is sponsored by TD, is among the world's largest road races to bring together both able-bodied athletes and those with disabilities who work together to finish the marathon in a celebration of teamwork, inclusivity and running.

Inspired by The New York Times bestselling memoir, I Am the Central Park Jogger: A Story of Hope & Possibility, by author and event founder Trisha Meili, the race was founded on the conviction that athletic competition unites people from all walks of life, despite their abilities or challenges.
