Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF) today announced plans to open a store in Omiya, Japan, on October 14, 2006. The approximately 1,600 gross-square-foot boutique will be located in the Sogo department store at 1-6-2 Sakuragicho, Omiya-ku, Saitama. The new boutique brings the total number of Tiffany's Japan locations to 53.

?The Sogo department store is located in Omiya's vibrant commercial area, which is an ideal retail setting for a TIFFANY & CO. boutique,? said Michael C. Christ, president of Tiffany & Co. Japan, Inc. ?Our new boutique will enable us to showcase Tiffany's vast collections and provide customers in this metropolitan area with the highest level of service for which Tiffany is known throughout the world.?

The boutique will combine architectural details of Tiffany's famous New York store, including Makore wood, and stainless steel framed showcases and vitrines. A color palette of elegant blue and brown has been selected for wall coverings and carpeting to further enhance the rich, sophisticated environment.

Among the array of Tiffany collections that will be offered are the jeweler's celebrated diamonds in platinum and eighteen-karat gold settings; exclusive designer collections of Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger, and world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, Tiffany's newest designer; fine and engagement jewelry; watches; sterling silver jewelry; and a selection of accessories and gifts.

The store debuts with a special exhibition -- Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Tiffany Vault -- on view through October 22, 2006. The son of company founder Charles Lewis Tiffany, Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) is the foremost American designer of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The collection includes some of the most important jewelry designs of his brilliant career.
