Tokio Marine Group's Dementia Supporters reached five thousand

Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. (President and Group CEO: Tsuyoshi Nagano) has promoted Dementia Supporters Training Programs for its group company staffs since fiscal 2011 and reports that the number of Tokio Marine Group's Dementia Supporters who participated in such programs reached more than five thousand.

For solving social problems including demographic changes such as the declining birthrate and an aging population, Tokio Marine Group as a whole has set "Supporting People" as one of its CSR material issues and now proactively promotes initiatives for supporting aged people and the challenged, etc.

Tokio Marine Group agreed with the purpose of Dementia Supporter Caravan project initiated by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2011, and by learning proper knowledge on dementia and aiming at utilizing such knowledge in every aspect of business operation, Tokio Marine Group has promoted and encouraged its staffs to proactively participate in Dementia Supporters Training Programs.

As a result, Tokio Marine Group's Dementia Supporters reached more than five thousand (as of the end of September 2018).

*1 Dementia Supporters Training Program: A program which caravan mates instruct people to train dementia supporters at local communities or in workplaces.

*2 Dementia Supporters: With proper knowledge of dementia, they support people with dementia and their families in their region to the extent possible. There are more than 10 million supporters as of the end of June 2018.
