Upon receiving a power supply request from the Tohoku
Electric Power Company via the Electric Power System
Council of Japan (ESCJ) in order to resolve the tight power
supply in their service area, we will provide the maximum
of 350MW from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM today in a form of power
interchange while considering our own power demand-supply
balance.
This power interchange will have no negative impact on
secure power supply in our service area.
Power interchange conducted between electric power
companies in order to secure stable power supply as a
nation in the case of power supply failure due to an
accident or demand-supply gap resulting from a sharp
increase in demand. ESCJ takes a role as an agent
coordinating the power interchange. The electric power
company in need of additional power supply requests for a
power interchange to ESCJ. The ESCJ then coordinates with
other electric power companies that are capable of
supplying power.
