TOKYO-Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) today announced that it will exhibit its latest products and technologies, including smart home appliances, at CEATEC JAPAN 2013, Japan's largest combined advanced IT and electronics trade show, which will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba prefecture from October 1 to 5.

Main exhibitions Main Stage

On the main stage, the theme "Home Cloud Services & Smart Life Innovation" will crystallize how Toshiba is using the latest advances in IT to improve consumer lifestyles. Home solutions and REGZA LCD TVs link latest smart home appliances and smart community. The stage will also be used to introduce Toshiba's integrated corporate design concept for digital products and home electronics, the hito wo omou project, which translates as "be considerate to people."

Entertainment Zone

Toshiba's Digital Products Group will spotlight the new REGZA Z8 series LCD TVs, which will be launched in the Japanese market in early November. The zone will also feature reference models of 40- and 50-inch 4K LCD TVs, and REGZA Z8X series currently on sale. Services to bring out the full potential of the TVs will also be featured, included the latest generation of the REGZA Cloud Services, TimeOn. The PC section will show UltrabookTM dynabook KIRA series, the REGZA Tablet AT703, and a wide range of notebook PCs for business users. On the software side, Toshiba will demonstrate operational management solutions for platforms extending from workstation to mobile products.

The Electronic Devices Group will introduce visitors to the industry's first* USB and microUSB adaptor module supporting TransferJetTM**, the close proximity wireless data transfer technology, that will go on sale in December. It will also feature a TransferJet™ embedded SDHC memory card now under development, and FlashAirTM SDHC memory card with embedded wireless LAN functionality.

Life Zone

In the Life Zone, Toshiba reminds us of the power of technology to improve daily life with The FEMINITY series that links smart home appliances in home networks. The company will also introduce the Home Appliance Concierge service that can be used by REGZA Cloud Services, TimeOn.

Energy Zone

In an age when energy conservation and reduced usage in the home are more important than ever, Toshiba will present a series of home energy solutions, centering on the equipment that can generate and store energy such as the Enegoon stationary home storage battery system, the Enefarm home fuel cell and solar power generation systems.

Toshiba will also exhibit a 920MHz band wireless USB dongle and a 920MHz band wireless ECHONET Lite module compliant with IEEE802.15.4g. The devices realize communication between the smart meter and the home gateway, the entrance of the home network, as well as communication between home appliances compliant with HEMS, which are expected to go into widespread use in the near future.
