SHANGHAI (AP) _ Trip.com Group Limited (TCOM) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $289 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Shanghai-based company said it had profit of 46 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 28 cents per share.

The travel services company posted revenue of $1.2 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.17 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.01 billion, or $1.65 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.12 billion.

Trip.com shares have declined 36% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $21.63, a decrease of 49% in the last 12 months.
