FOX Business Network (FBN) will debut a new weekly primetime show hosted by The Wall Street Journal’s Editor-at-Large Gerry Baker on Friday, November 30th, announced Brian Jones, president of the network. The program, entitled WSJ AT LARGE WITH GERRY BAKER, will air Fridays at 9:30PM/ET following Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (9PM/ET) and feature interviews with major industry leaders impacting Wall Street, Washington and business in America.

In making the announcement, Jones said, “We’ve assembled the best team in business news and we’re excited to add Gerry to the roster. The combination of Bartiromo and Baker will make the 9PM/ET hour one of the most informative and comprehensive in cable news.”

Baker added, “I’m thrilled to be starting this new venture at FBN. I look forward to the opportunity to explore in depth with some of the finest minds in the world each week the issues and trends that are defining our modern world.”

Each Friday, Baker will welcome major influencers from across the business, finance, politics and tech space to lead thoughtful discussions on the major news of the week. Additionally, Baker will also expand upon the larger trends impacting business in America. The weekly half-hour program will follow Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, which has one of the most affluent audiences in all of cable, according to Nielsen Media Research, creating a powerful and informative hour of business television.

Throughout the years, Baker has contributed formidable economic insight and analysis across multiple FBN and FOX News Channel (FNC) programs. In November 2015, Baker joined global markets editor Maria Bartiromo and managing editor of business news Neil Cavuto to moderate FBN’s inaugural presidential primary debate. According to Nielsen data, the debate delivered 13.5 million total viewers and 3.7 million in the key 25-54 demo, making it the highest-rated program in the network’s history.

In addition to his role on FBN, Baker currently serves as the Editor-at-Large for the Wall Street Journal and writes the “Editor at Large” column for the Review section. From 2013 through 2018, Baker held the Editor-in-Chief title for both Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal. Prior to that, he was the news organization’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief between 2009 and 2013.

Previously, Baker was U.S. editor and an assistant editor of the Times of London. In 1994, he joined the Financial Times (FT) as Tokyo correspondent, moving on to head the paper's Washington bureau and serving as the FT's chief U.S. commentator. He also covered economics for the BBC and worked as an economist at the Bank of England and Lloyds. Mr. Baker holds a degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University.
