UniCredit has appointed Guido Filippa as Head of Markets Italy within its Corporate & Investment Banking Division, effective 15th October, 2018.

In this role, Mr. Filippa will be responsible for the oversight of UniCredit's Markets activities in Italy, with a focus on developing client strategy.

Mr. Filippa will be based in Milan and report directly to Guy Laffineur, Head of Global Markets and locally to Alfredo Maria De Falco, Head of CIB Italy. He replaces Francesco Salvatori, who was appointed Head of CIB Americas earlier this year.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Laffineur said: 'We're delighted to welcome Guido to our organisation - his impressive sales and trading credentials will only serve to bolster our Markets business as we look to reinforce our structure and be ever-closer to clients.'

Mr. De Falco added: 'Guido's long track record in supporting large institutional clients will both enhance our product offering domestically and further position us as an European banking partner of choice.'

Mr. Filippa, 46, joins UniCredit from Tages Group, a leading alternative investment group, where he was Head of Group Business Development. Prior to Tages Group, Mr. Filippa held a variety of senior cross-asset sales roles at Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and Barclays Capital, primarily covering banks and insurance companies. He holds a MSc in Economics from Bocconi University.
