WILMINGTON, Mass. (AP) _ UniFirst Corp. (UNF) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $34.7 million.

The Wilmington, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of $1.82 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.66 per share.

The uniform provider posted revenue of $464.6 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $459.5 million.

UniFirst shares have decreased 26% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined slightly more than 4% in the last 12 months.
