IZ-KARTEX named after P.G. Korobkov Ltd., a part of OMZ Group, held the 5th Technological conference "Development perspectives of mining equipment of IZ-KARTEX".

The conference took place on May 22-23, 2013 in St. Petersburg and welcomed more than 170 participants: manager and technical experts of mining enterprises, producers of mining-and-transport equipment, representatives of design and research institutes, mining theoreticians and practitioners from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Serbia.

The conference was dedicated to the development of new product line of IZ-KARTEX named after P.G. Korobkov, best practices of mining excavators operating in mining industry, equipment improvement, major trends in developing mining equipment and designing of mining enterprises. Reports were held by: professor of Moscow State Minig University Roman Poderni, Deputy Chief Designer of JSC Belaz Nicolay Bigel, Chief of the electromachanical Department of JSC UK Kuzbassrazrezugol Igor Kirillov, Chief Engineer Officer of JSC Uzbekugol Igor Tsoy, representatives of electrical equipment manufacturing plants and other respected experts of mining industry.

"The last similar conference took place in St. Petersburg in 2008", said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OMZ Group Vadim Makhov, "Since then IZ-KARTEX achieved high results: new excavators of high capacity (EKG-12Ê, EKG -18R è EKG -32R) were developed and installed in the mining enterprises. Now the participants of the conference have a great opportunity to take a look at the recent developments and discuss topical issues of mining equipment operations".

Summarizing results of the conference the participants unanimously highlighted the necessity and usefulness of such events, which give a new incentives to the development of Russian mining equipment.
