Following the merger-absorption of Viacom Inc. in December 2019, CBS Corporation changed its name to ViacomCBS Inc. The new group is a media group organized around 5 areas of activity:
- production and distribution of films and TV programs (44.2% of net sales): CBS Television Network, CBS Television Studios, CBS Studios International, CBS Television Distribution, Network 10, CBS Interactive, CBS Sports Network and CBS Films;
- TV channel operation (42.3%): Showtime Networks (Showtime, The Movie Channel and Flix), Smithsonian Networks, CBS Television Stations, channels on the MTV network (Music Television, MTV2, MTV Digital, VH1, VH1 Classic, CMT, Country Music Television, Harmonix, Spike TV, etc.) and Black Entertainment Television (BET, BETJ, BET Gospel, etc.);
- operation of TV content portals (10.6%);
- book publishing (2.9%): Simon & Schuster, Pocket Books, Scribner, Gallery Books, and Atria Books.
