Certain items sold at Walmart Inc. are included in a Taylor Farms recall of products containing onions, which is related to the Thomson International Inc. onion recall due to concerns about salmonella.

A Taylor Farms recall notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration lists diced yellow onion, mirepoix trays and fajita stir fry trays, all with the Marketside brand, plus a Taylor Farms chicken salad croissant sandwich. Kroger Co. previously reported the recall of certain Taylor Farms items.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert mentioning Taylor Farms items including a Walmart sausage bowl and a salad sold at H-E-B.

The FDA said on Saturday that 396 total illnesses had been reported, including 59 hospitalizations. An FDA traceback investigation identified Thomson, based in Bakersfield, Calif., as a "likely source of contaminated red onions."
