SCRANTON — Williams Companies, Inc., through the Williams Foundation Fund at the Tulsa Community Foundation, has awarded Lackawanna College with a $20,000 grant to be directed towards scholarships for students in the School of Petroleum and Natural Gas (PNG).
“Williams is pleased to make this investment in Lackawanna College and its students. We’re thankful for the college’s commitment to preparing students for the real-world jobs needed in the energy industry,” said Jack Walsh, general manager for Williams’ operations in northeast Pennsylvania.
Williams provides clean-burning natural gas to heat homes and generate electricity. The partnership between the School of PNG and Williams provides a vital connection between education and industry that allows students to succeed and advance in the oil and gas field.
“Williams has been, and continues to be, among the strongest advocates of our students, our college, and our programs. Their investment ensures the continued availability of locally educated men and women to serve in this dynamic and impactful industry. We are honored to have earned their trust and support,” said Lackawanna College President Mark Volk.
