Retailer increases inventory accuracy to 98 percent and improves productivity by 30 percent

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. - October 8, 2019 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, today announced that Prüne, an Argentinian fashion retailer, implemented a RFID solution that has dramatically improved inventory management, receiving and dispatching processes, and increased customer satisfaction in an omnichannel environment. The RFID solution has helped virtually eliminate errors and increase inventory accuracy from 60 to 98 percent, offering new purchase and delivery options. It has also improved productivity in receiving and dispatching orders by 30 percent.

Prüne implemented the Smart Retail solution of Telectrónica, a Zebra PartnerConnect Premier Solution Partner, with Zebra fixed RFID readers, antennas, printers, mobile computers and sleds to support the manufacture of clothing and accessories to the point of sale (POS) in stores. The solution has enabled Prüne to improve warehouse operations and find the products that shoppers want when they want them, helping to comply with customer expectations online and in-store.

'The Telectrónica-Zebra RFID solution has allowed us to better manage our resources at our manufacturing plant, optimize operations at our warehouse and take the customer experience to new heights across our network of more than 100 stores in Argentina, Perú, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay,' said Mercedes Marqués, Continual Improvement Manager at Prüne. 'We have saved a significant amount of time with our operations and control processes both inside the warehouse and in our retail stores. In addition, we reduced the time spent on operational tasks while eliminating errors and inconsistencies and can now quickly conduct inventory audits that allow us to improve stock management with just one employee.'

Prüne selected Zebra and Telectrónica following a successful pilot program, which enabled all its vendors outside of Argentina to tag their products with RFID tags printed by Zebra's RFID R110 printers. The printers are installed in Prüne's Argentinean manufacturing plant to identify all the items produced locally. The company is also using Zebra's FX9600 fixed RFID reader in its warehouse to control incoming merchandise from vendors and the dispatch of products to stores. In addition, each store has a TC20 Zebra smartphone to visualize all operations related to product receipt, inventory audits, product localization, exhibition, price consulting, and product availability.

'Retailers are looking for solutions to enhance the customer experience and support industry challenges such as omnichannel operations, e-commerce, returns management and delivery time estimates,' said Alejandro Prosperi, Sales Director of South of Latin America region, Zebra Technologies. 'Zebra and partners like Telectrónica empower innovative retailers like Prüne to intelligently connect people, assets and data and achieve a performance edge.'

The solution, launched together with the brand's latest collection during the first quarter of 2019, has provided Prüne with a consistent omnichannel strategy that gives customers personalized services both online and in-store, as well as new buying options such as click-and-collect.

'Prüne is a visionary in the fashion retail industry and has realized tremendous efficiencies with its RFID solution that will allow it to remain a step ahead of the competition,' said Alan Gidekel, CEO of Telectrónica.
