As a result of repeated stronger earthquakes in the region around the Manisa production location in Turkey, the Zehnder Group had imposed a production stop as of 31 May 2017 and ordered that the state of the rented production building and the safety of the employees be checked. The structural reinforcement measures initiated for the building on the basis of expert opinions have been completed, meaning that production can be resumed immediately until further notice. The backorders will likely be made up for by the end of August 2017.

In addition to resuming production in the rented building in Manisa, the Board of Directors decided to begin construction of the new company-owned factory in the near future. For this purpose, an around 40,000 m2 plot of land was purchased in Manisa in 2016. However, the beginning of construction was delayed due to instability in Turkey. Commissioning of the company's production plant, including warehouse and logistics operations, is planned for 2018. 'Manisa is an important production location for bathroom radiators for the Zehnder Group. The new factory is a long-term investment to strengthen our international competitiveness and to reinforce our leading position in the radiator business area,' explains Dominik Berchtold, CEO of the Zehnder Group.
