(Alliance News) - The Mib Index closed higher in the first session of the week, placing the point plateau above 26,200, following Friday's decline, with trading rooms assessing the latest measures taken by various authorities and regulators to ensure the stability of the global financial system, as well as the growing narrative that central banks should halt interest rate hikes to avoid a recession.

On Monday, in the CME Group platform's FedWatch Tool, using futures also based on the actual federal funds rate or EFFR, the main rate hike for the May 3 meeting has a 63 percent probability priced in for confirmation in the 475/500 bps range.

In contrast, the probability of an increase in the 500/525 bps area, an increase equivalent to 25 bps, is at 37%. The current target is between 475 and 500 bps.

The FTSE Mib closed up 1.2 percent at 26,206.67.

Among the smaller listings, the Mid-Cap gained 0.1 percent to 42,304.23, the Small-Cap rose 0.3 percent to 29,613.01, and Italy Growth closed up 0.3 percent to 9,330.18.

In Europe, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.9 percent, Paris' CAC 40 gained 0.9 percent, and Frankfurt's DAX 40 was up 1.1 percent.

On the Mib, Terna closed ahead 2.2% at EUR7.60. On the stock it is reported that Société Générale raised Terna's target price to EUR8.50 from EUR8.20 with a 'buy' recommendation.

Prysmian finished 2.8 percent higher, reflecting the good start to the week for industrial stocks, which are putting in positive performances across Europe.

High quarters also for Saipem, which closed by picking up 3.6 percent on the back of rising barrel prices and rearing its head after three straight sessions among the bearish.

Among the few bearish performers was DiaSorin, which closed down 4.0 percent. The company on Monday reported that its board of directors approved its 2022 results reporting a net profit of EUR240.1 million down from the EUR310.7 million reported in 2021. In contrast, adjusted profit amounted to EUR318.7 million down from EUR356.9 million in 2021. The board approved, inotre, the proposed distribution of an ordinary dividend totaling EUR61.5 million, or EUR1.10 per share.

On the Mid-Cap, Marr advanced 3.3 percent to EUR12.50 per share after falling 1.1 percent on Friday evening. The stock -- benefiting from good accounts for 2022 -- had come from four positive sessions.

Maire Tecnimont gave up 3.0% after the previous two bearish sessions.

The board of directors of Juventus Football Club - down 0.4 percent - reviewed and approved Friday the consolidated half-year financial report as of December 31, 2022 reporting revenues of EUR276.2 million up from EUR223.1 million in the same six-month period of 2021/2022. The loss amounted to EUR29.5 million down from a loss of EUR112.1 in the first half of last year. This improvement stems partly from the fading of the negative effects of the pandemic, especially with regard to tender revenues, and partly from revenue development and cost rationalization actions set in previous periods and continued in the current one, the company explains.

Datalogic, on the other hand, gave up 2.9 percent, marking the fifth session in a row ended on the bearish side.

Sales also prevailed on Salvatore Ferragamo, which gave up 1.8 percent to EUR16.53. On the stock it is mentioned that Société Générale cut its target price to EUR10.00 from EUR11.00 with a 'sell' recommendation.

On the Small-Cap, Fidia advanced 5.4 percent to EUR1.47 per share, reversing course after three sessions in the red.

In contrast, Aeffe rose 4.1 percent to EUR1.22 per share, rearing its head after two sessions ended in the red.

Beghelli gave up 8.9 percent to EUR0.2750 per share. The company said Friday that its board of directors approved the draft budget to Dec. 31, 2022 reporting consolidated sales at EUR145.9 million down from EUR148.0 million in 2021. The company reported a net loss of EUR10.2 million versus a profit of EUR3.1 million in 2021.

Beewize contracted 1.9 percent, with price at EUR0.7140 after eve's green with 1.7 percent.

Among SMEs, Aton Green Storage brought home an 8.9% green after two sessions in a row closed in the red.

Purchases also on Visibilia, which rallied more than 14 percent to EUR0.1140 on the rebound after declining more than 11 percent on Friday's close.

The board of directors of Finanza.tech -- down 6.3 percent -- announced Monday that it had approved the financial statements as of December 31, 2022, which closed with a net profit of EUR100,000 from EUR465,462 in the same period last year. Revenues amounted to EUR3.6 million from EUR3.1 million as of Dec. 31, 2021.

Revenues amounted to EUR24.7 million, up 25 percent from EUR21.5 million in 2021, with a major contribution from the Healthcare Business Unit.

In New York,, the Dow is advancing 0.6 percent, the Nasdaq gives up 0.6 percent while the S&P 500 is in the green by 0.2 percent.

Among currencies, the euro changes hands at USD1.0784 versus USD1.0760 at Friday's close. In contrast, the pound is worth USD1.2273 from USD1.2229 at the previous close.

Among commodities, Brent crude is worth USD76.47 per barrel against USD74.46 per barrel on Friday night. Gold, meanwhile, trades at USD1,956.52 an ounce from USD1,985.13 an ounce at the last close.

On Tuesday's economic calendar, coming up is the Italian business and consumer confidence data at 1000 CET.

From the US, at 1430 CET the goods-only trade balance, while at 1600 CET it will be the turn of the consumer confidence report. At 1900 CET the 5-year Treausry auction and weekly oil stocks.

On the corporate calendar, Alfonsino, Copernicus, Fope, Grifal, Illa, MeglioQuesto, Nusco, Omer Philogen, and Zucchi are among the many results.
