Arthur D. Levinson is an American businessperson who has been the head of 5 different companies and currently holds the position of Independent Chairman of Apple, Inc., Chairman for Genentech Ventures and Chief Executive Officer for Calico LLC. He is also on the board of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, American Society for Microbiology and The Broad Institute, Inc. and Member of American Society for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Inc. In the past Dr. Levinson held the position of Non-Executive Chairman for Amyris, Inc., Member-Executive Council at Technology Network and Chairman for Genentech, Inc. He received a doctorate from Princeton University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington.
