Eng Long Ong

Eng Long Ong is currently serving as the Senior Independent Non-Executive Chairman at Karex Bhd.
He started this position in 2022.
Previously, Dr. Ong held several positions.
From 2001 to 2008, he served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council.
Prior to that, from 1998 to 2001, he was the Deputy General Director at The Malaysian Rubber Board.
Dr. Ong also served as the Co-President at the Malaysian Rubber Products Manufacturers Association.
Additionally, Dr. Ong was the President of the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry from 2014 to 2018.
He started his tenure in 2001.
He also worked as a Senior Research Officer at the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia.
Dr. Ong completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Malaya in 1969.
He later obtained a doctorate degree from Queen Mary's College in 1973.
