Deutsche Bank AG said Thursday that it has nominated Volkswagen AG's Chief Financial Officer Frank Witter for election to Deutsche Bank's supervisory board.

The German bank said its supervisory board would submit a proposal at the annual general meeting on May 27 for Mr. Witter to succeed Gerd Alexander Schuetz, who will resign from his mandate on the board.

"We are delighted to be able to nominate Frank Witter, a proven financial expert and a representative of a leading German industrial firm, for election to the supervisory board," Supervisory Board Chairman Paul Achleitner said.
