Guangchang He

Guo Guangchang is the Executive Director and the President of Fosun International Limited. According to Forbes, Guo Guangchang was in 2011 the 409th richest man in the world.

Guo Guangchang was born in Zhejiang Province under the era of Mao Zedong. His childhood in the Chinese countryside was difficult.

Guo Guangchang left home to study at Fudan University in Shanghai. He was graduated in philosophy in 1989 and obtained an MBA at the Institute of Economic Management of Fudan University in July 1999.

In 1992 he founded with comrades of Fudan University Shanghai the company Shanghai Fosun High Technology (Group) Co and became the president and CEO. In 1995, Guo Guangchang and his comrades invest in genetic engineering. The company focuses on treatments to fight against hepatitis B.

Subsequently Forsun diversifies and expands its business to other sectors : through its subsidiaries, Forsun International practices in strategic investments, real estate, retail, gold and mining. Forsun is currently the largest business conglomerate with a turnover around 35 billion Yuan (4.2 billion dollars).

Guo Guangchang knows how to choose his colleagues. For example he hired the Treasury Secretary, John Snow as consultant in the board of directors of Fosun International Limited.
